About the Pants Blocks
These blocks were developed off of the Millicent Joy children's size chart. Please see the size chart below for the range that these blocks are intended for.
These 2-piece trouser blocks serve as an intro to working with pants blocks for those nervous about starting off right away drafting, or for those that want to work on blocks digitally.
They were drafted with Aldrich textbook with modified ease.
This product is meant to serve as an aid in helping you develop a block for your child's body or to use as a starting point for drafting patterns. This product does not instruct you on how to draft your own block or how to fix fit issues. Feel free to join us in the free Facebook group (Drafting and Hacking with Millicent Joy) for assistance in fitting and drafting as time allows.
Woven Blocks Include

- Illustrated instructions on basic block manipulation, converting blocks into 1-piece pants block, accounting for a waistband or enclosed elastic, and sewing the blocks together are also included (available in the printable version)
- 3/8" seam allowance is marked on blocks so that it can easily be trimmed off for drafting.

Printable vs. Digital
The printable blocks are perfect for the home sewist. Simply print off your child's size, assemble, cut, and sew. The PDF files are available in US letter (trimless + layers), A4 (layers), and A0 (layers). You will need Adobe Reader on your computer to open and properly print the PDF files. Adobe Reader is available for free online.
The digital blocks are perfect for the techy sewist. You will receive both AI and SVG files that include all 12 sizes nested. Blocks are nested without seam allowance and also separately nested with 3/8" seam allowance. These blocks require the use of Adobe Illustrator or equivalent program that can support a SVG file.
